On behalf of the Home Office, we manage the Asylum Accommodation and Support Services Contract (AASC) for the Midlands and East of England - providing safe, secure and dignified accommodation for people seeking asylum in the UK.

Who we are

We provide vital housing and support for people while their asylum claim is processed - ensuring comfort, safety and access to essential services.

With over 7,000 properties across the region, we take our responsibility seriously. Every home must meet the Decent Homes Standard, and every person deserves to feel safe, respected and supported.

What we do

We work hand-in-hand with local authorities, suppliers, community partners and specialist organisations to provide a safe and supportive service at what is often the most vulnerable time in a person’s life.

Property Management

Every property has a dedicated Housing Officer and Maintenance Operative. Regular inspections and responsive maintenance keep homes safe and habitable. Issues are raised, resolved and recorded with care and efficiency.

What you’ll do:
Lead teams, oversee property portfolios and ensure service users receive the care and support they need. You’ll balance people, process and performance - and make a real difference on the ground.

What you’ll need:
Empathy, organisation, communication and the ability to think clearly under pressure. You’ll be trusted to manage teams, make sound decisions and uphold the standards we’re known for.

Hours: Monday–Friday, 7.5 hours per day (between 8am–6pm) with on-call rota cover.

Benefits: Competitive salary, company car, pension up to 6%, 25 days’ holiday, plus discounts and growth opportunities.

What you’ll do:
Support residents in your portfolio of properties, complete inspections, coordinate repairs and ensure every home meets safety and quality standards.

What you’ll need:
Organisation, patience and empathy. You’ll be the face of Serco to our residents - ensuring every interaction is professional, respectful and human.

Hours: Monday–Friday, 37.5 hours per week, with rota-based out-of-hours cover.

What you’ll do:
Carry out repairs and maintenance across our housing portfolio, ensuring each property meets safety and quality standards.

What you’ll need:
A practical mindset and attention to detail. Trade experience is helpful but not essential - what matters is accountability, care and a focus on doing the job right.

Hours: Monday–Friday, 7.5 hours per day (8am–6pm) with on-call rota cover.

What is an Immigration Removal Centre? It’s a secure facility where people without legal immigration status are held while awaiting deportation or a decision on their case. Our IRCs provide dignity, safety and support for residents from all backgrounds and cultures.
